At the moment the letter was issued that met the reasons for Elez Blakay's resignation from the prosecutor's work, reactions have begun, especially from those represented in his letter.
Blakaj in the clarification and supplementary letter of the resignation suggested that clarification had been asked by State Chief Prosecutor Alexander Lumez, why Kadri Veseli had invited him into the interview.
Then comes Wessel's reaction, which contained such striking sentences for Blakay as:
Elez Blakaj, a prosecutor whom the state of Kosovo had trusted, did not have the courage to bring this to the end, for which I have had my full support as a man, as a warrior and as an institutional and political leader.
The state of Kosovo had entrusted Mr. Blakaj and his professionalism. With his departure, he shows he does not love the state of Kosovo.
Elez Blakay's departure from office should not be at all discouraging for the people of this country, especially for law professionals.
Wessel's full submission two days ago:
Having fanned the Kosovo Liberation Army veterans' lists, there is no dilemma. Such concern has been expressed to me by many fellow fighters, which has led me to demand to the end the investigation of this process.
I've asked from the beginning for this justice to speak its word. Any claims of fraud on veterans' lists must be investigated in a thorough and impartial manner.
I'm sorry about the KLA fighters, someone trying to tarnish their contribution and sacrifices. But even this battle, to protect the values of our war, fellow fighters, we will win it, putting it to justice, with names and surnames, all who entered these lists without being freedom fighters.
It takes devoted and courageous people in every institution.
Elez Blakaj, a prosecutor whom the state of Kosovo had trusted, did not have the courage to bring this to the end, for which I have had my full support as a man, as a warrior and as an institutional and political leader.
He had thought of becoming a hero prosecutor without fighting crime, just like these frauds who want to become veterans without participating in the liberation war.
With statements from the United States not fighting crime, as long as the war has not been won with statements without taking part directly. In any case, that is the morality that you choose for yourself, which you also educate your children.
This process will go to the end, as far as any claim this prosecutor made will go to the bottom. The lists will be investigated. The truth will come out.
The state of Kosovo had entrusted Mr. Blakaj and his professionalism. With his departure, he shows he does not love the state of Kosovo.
Prosecutors who love the state of Kosovo, who live with spirit in this country, will complete this process.
Elez Blakay's departure from office should not be at all discouraging for the people of this country, especially for law professionals.
I assure Kosovo citizens that frauds of any kind can neither tarnish the glorious name of the Kosovo Liberation Army nor harm Kosovo's future.
Meanwhile, in the post after two days, Wessel does not rebuke Blakay for '%kje, but says he started out well but left him in half.
Here are some parts of Wessel's reaction today:
PRocker Blakaj started his job well, but she remained half. Transparency of the situation created around it must become complete and each take responsibility for its actions and inactions. Whatever and whatever the function you exercise in the state of Kosovo.
Investigations launched by prosecutor Blakaj must and continue. They need to intensify.
And full response:
Dear citizens,
Today I have sent a letter to the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
The Kosovo Liberation Army is a direct product of the people of Kosovo. Only by being such, she succeeded in fulfilling her historic mission - the ultimate liberation of her homeland.
Let's be clear: Freedom, which we enjoy today, did not come only from the rifles of boys and girls listed in the Kosovo Liberation Army. It also came from the unhurried contribution of an entire people, from each citizen, who in times, places, and possibilities engaged in making the great dream of freedom a reality.
This nationwide commitment, in no way, should be confused with the issue of veterans' lists.
Of the country's political and institutional leaders, I have been the first to have attracted attention that mistakes, concessions and manipulations are being made in the process of verifying the status of KLA veterans. The evidence is available to everyone. Just a simple Internet search.
Since then, I have received hundreds of letters and have met dozens of former warriors who have witnessed to me about manipulations and the injustices that have been committed to them in the process of verification. For this, I have given full support to the investigation process of these manipulations, which, today, are also confirmed by former commanders of the KLA operational zones. For the position I held on this case, by former prosecutor Elez Blakaj I have been invited to testify to, the invitation to which I responded positively and with many responsibilities.
Prosecutor Blakaj started his job well, but she remained in half. Transparency of the situation created around it must become complete and each take responsibility for its actions and inactions. Whatever and whatever the function you exercise in the state of Kosovo.
Investigations launched by prosecutor Blakaj must and continue. They need to intensify. Transparency and responsibility must and will be complete. I say this as a former KLA fighter, as political and institutional leader and as taxpayers. That means three things: On veterans' lists there are no false veterans, state institutions dare not make any concessions in terms of rule of law, and Kosovo citizens' taxes do not dare anyone abuse.
Somebody, for good reason, may I ask how my family stands on the subject of veterans' lists. Since 1991 my family has been an active part of my commitment. Later, all were part of the war, but only one of them became veterans. I have done an unjust deed with my family members, denying them a legitimate right, just so there will be no misunderstandings and a personal example. The facts are and can easily be verified by anyone you want.
The KLA was set up to end a major historical injustice. Today, we must not allow anyone to do injustice, either in its name or in its name.
