The ARKEP in its decision says the Government can provide support to the operator for the coverage of losses, respectively a subsidisation of SHUP's delivery for 2017, which amounts to over 800 thousand euros, while for the previous years, according to the ARKEP, remains in the Government's discretion if it wants to subsidise.
Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka has told the paper that the demand, along with the ARKEP's decision, is under consideration by the Ministry of Finance and is expected to assess whether there is a budget for subsidisation. He has said he will consider the possibility that if there are budgetary surplus, it will become a subsidy, but that this analysis takes time.
He has said he opposes subvention of public enterprises and that he should look at the best forms for this form to be removed, and that, according to him, would be done with improved performance of companies.
Post workers had held a strike weeks ago, which has not lasted an hour since Minister Luka has promised to make a solution to the serious financial situation in the company. He had requested an assessment by the ARKEP for the postal service offered by Posta, the cost of this service, respectively, and the possibility of allowing subsidies.
