Brussels' “position on Serbia's relations with Kosovo will be established in accordance with the bloc's rules and without being influenced by US opinion” told grid B IERN member of Bundestag, born in Croatia, broadcasts tch.
He stressed once again that the European Union is not ready to import border problems such as existing ones between Slovenia and Croatia. The former EU special envoy for Kosovo, on the other hand, fears a frozen conflict and lays out the possibility of what he calls “cosmetic correction of borders”.

Petritsch describes the Serb-Albanian clash as the last historic conflict in the region. I am aware, says former senior official that “administrative correction” of the borders has potential shortcomings unless it is done in close co-operation with the UN, the EU and the OSCE.
But stressing that she deeply respects Chancellor Angela Merkel's word, which has been flatly expressed against changing borders, Petritsch adds that from the complicated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, it should be listened carefully to the people who make decisions in both capitals, while indicating that it is time to close all open issues of this kind to the Balkans, including between Croatia and Slovenia.
