EU at war with US: Juncker says EU will return Trump for tariffs

The European Union will respond to all US decisions to raise vehicle fees, European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker told German television ZDF.

Juncker and President Donald Trump met in Washington in July to negotiate customs fees the American administration is setting, the ATSH writes.

“We, Trump and I agreed to a ceasefire regarding new car tariffs. As it happens with ceasefires, sometimes they are in danger, but they stand”, he said.

“Anyway, if Trump wants to raise the tariffs on vehicles, then the EU will do the same”, Juncker said.

The two sides are meeting to work to set the stage for a future agreement.

These talks follow those of the meeting between Juncker and Trump in July.
