During a speech to Turkish ambassadors in Ankara's capital, Erdogan said Turkey would overcome “attack” on its economy.
He insisted that Turkey's economy remains strong and said the currency would soon be adjusted “to the most reasonable level”.
In an apparent reference to the United States, Erdogan said the global system's “forces cannot shamelessly harm our profits paid by blood”.
Erdogan also dismissed any suggestion that Turkey could intervene in bank accounts in dollars, saying any seizures or converting these deposits into lira was not at issue.
The Turkish leader's comments came after authorities launched investigations into hundreds of social media accounts for alleged reports claiming to be helping drop the currency.
Erdogan said there is a “economic terror” under way in the social media, adding that “the oppose “ ” would be punished.
