Major abuses with former Kosovo Liberation Army veterans' lists (UÇK) and the involvement of people without merit in them are disturbing the Council for the Protection of the Rights of KLA fighters.
Geevdet Qeriki as the representative of this council in an interview with journalist Muhamet Hajrullahu has stressed that no one knows what the exact number of KLA veterans is and that there has been a swelling of the list.
He has said the main blame for the swelling of the lists is the Commission dealing with vetting veterans.
I think that the exact number of veterans who are lists don't know neither the Government of Kosovo, the Commission, nor the”, has added to the government.
Furthermore, he has said that true fighters have entered the lists from the beginning because, according to him, there have been very few complaints and has been easily identified everything.
I think we have double or triple the number of veterans, and this is all the blame for the Commission that deals with verification. Agim Ceku has been part of the KLA's General Staff and I think they know roughly how long the number of veterans” has stressed Qeriki.
According to him, although the Government of Kosovo has a legal obligation to publish the lists, this institution has not yet done so.
