Bulgaria has decided to renew more than 200 bridges, following the collapse of a bridge in the Italian town of Genoa, has been announced in a government report Thursday, Reuters broadcast.
A total of 211 bridges, most of which were built 34 or 40 years ago, are in poor shape, the Regional Development Ministry said at a government meeting.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said all bridges must be renovated and strengthened.

Bulgaria, the poorest state in the European Union, has for decades accepted financial assistance from Europe to modernise infrastructure.
This country is almost four times larger than Belgium, but it has 777 miles of highway, most of which are in poor condition.
A highway bridge that collapsed in Italy on Tuesday has left at least 38 people dead and injured 16 others.
