The most required occupations by the labour market are currently operators for call centire, workshops, shoe factories, waitresses and bartenders, trade technicians and construction, cleaning drivers, etc. These top the list of professions the market needs, while there is very little demand for employees with higher qualifications and especially for technology.
The list of the most popular professions for the following year was formed after a poll that the United Nations Development Programme, The UNDP did more than 6000 businesses in all of the country's districts. The poll, which was conducted by INSTAT experts, cleared the list of needs the market currently represents and in the medium term.
The list of the most required professions reflects the model of Albania's economy, which is subject to the exploitation of natural resources and low-value sectors, such as the Facebook sector and retail trade. In current high-qualification working conditions, there are very little employment opportunities, as the labour market has very low offers for these profession groups.
The search for “armworker” has also discouraged the educational system to advance in the science and technology sector, branches in which European education is being instructed in today. But as the market looks for incapable workers, in Albanian universities about 60 percent of students graduate for law, economy, arts and social science.
According to official data in 2016, business demand to recruit high-educated and middle-tech workers dropped by 25% in proportion to 2015. The gap is used to deepening in 2017. In the labour offices, 5336 people with higher education have registered as job seekers last year, but the bid for this qualifications was only 2517 people.
On the other hand, most of the higher education job offers are for positions that cover professional education. A cashier at the bank doesn't have to be in high school, just as an accountant can make a person with secondary education. The building's electric installations could make a medium-sized technician.
