We recently spent an entire month in Albania visiting the country. For 40 years, Albania was considered Europe's North Korea with a dictatorship of isolation. Today, it is such a place to offer for those who seek the hidden, unknown, and vicious side of the earth.

Here are seven things to look at and do:

Head south. Go near the city of Vlora and make your way to the mountains. You will wander around abandoned buildings, bunker ruins and beautiful coasts.

Sailing into Ossum cans. A nearly untouched water world awaits you. About an hour from Berat the canons of Osum will give you one of the most beautiful experiences of the shelf we've experienced.

Wash in the hot springs in the cane near Permet. You can combine this journey by making a shelf on the Vjosa River and stay one night in Permet. Hot water is not really hot, but its compound minerals are very treatative.

Navigating Kayak at <x0forgods” in northern Albania. Go to Shkodra from Tirana and then head to the mountains where you will take the ferry to Koman Lake. There you can take a day guide or a ferry trip to the deepest point in Fierza. You can even bring your car to the ferry.

Walk on Cape Rhodes and visit the castle at sunset. There's a little castle on the peninsula, as well as hidden beaches around.

Count the bunkers during the trip to the country. There are estimated to be about 200,000 bunkers throughout Albania. No one knows how accurate, but the Communist dictator built them as preventative for an invasion that never occurred.
