More than 320 people have died as a result of floods in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
Roads have been damaged, mobile phone networks have been cut off, the international airport has closed, while more than 220,000 people have been left homeless due to heavy rains lasting nine days.
State officials have announced that, as a result of floods and landslides “around 100 people have lost their lives during the last 36 hours”.
According to authorities in India, the number of victims is expected to increase.
Many of the victims were blocked by the landslides that caused floods.
Kerala is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India.
