During this year alone, 13 workers lost their lives in the workplace

Milor Beleg is the last victim to have lost his life in his workplace. Although he was in an accident on August 19, he was treated at QKUK for a week. And last night, the police reported his death. But hard working conditions are facing most workers [...]

But with difficult working conditions, most workers in the private sector are facing.

As a result, this year alone, 13 workers have lost their jobs.

This was made known by Yusuf Azemi, chairman of the Independent Private Sector Union.

Azemi has said that workers who, in most cases, are also forced to work on high residential objects.

He vows that someone will be held accountable for this.

“There are exactly 13 workers who died this year at their workplace. This year has been a very frequent phenomenon with the death of young workers, since skilled workers even with faculties are forced to work at 7-8-story buildings. Someone has to account for that”, Azemi says.

The chairman of the Independent Private Sector Union has had sharp criticism of the Kosovo government.

He has said workers' conditions are only getting worse.

“We've actually put unhindered pressure on creating working conditions in the private sector, but neither has the past government, nor has the present done the least job to improve the workers' conditions. Unfortunately, I have said that conditions are only being taken care of because nobody is taking care of, the very fact that still in Kosovo are paid 130 and 170 euros, shows that the government has not made the minimum movement either, not to talk about working conditions”, Yusuf Azemi said.

Azem has also mentioned promises, as he has described them as forgotten by the government, and agreements they have signed. But it says they're in the drawer.

“The workers are no longer listening to either the minister or the prime minister, they are listening only to their way because they have lost the will and desire that can keep a plower properly. And the fact that we don't have any government moves. Even what they promised during the campaigns and agreements we have signed is definitely inconsistent, which is not worth dealing with, he said.

Azem has also cited the workers' heartfelt demands to leave Kosovo.

He says that only last year have 43 thousand people obtained working visas from the German Embassy.

This is very bad. The situation is enslaved. Really the workers who have been qualified they're only getting out of Kosovo. It is futile now to make the move because the situation has gone so far that workers who once and for all have left Kosovo cannot return. Last year alone, there were over 50,000 job visa applications, profiting over 43 thousand people”, concluded Yusuf Azemi.

Kosovo's governments since the post-war, even though they have sometimes pledged to improve the conditions of workers, their promises have remained only on paper.
