Wessel: Italy backs visa liberalisation

Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselin with party deputies a week after the European Commission's positive report recommending visa waivers, has continued visa lobes, and this time have been hosted by Italian Senate President Maria Elizabeth Alberti Caselati to discuss the Italian state's political support for the removal of visas [...]
During this meeting, attended by Glauk Konjufca of Vetevendosje, Aida Dirgugut of the PSD, Ahmet Isufi of AAK, Srdjan Mitrovic of the Serbian List, Haxhi Shala of the Initiative and Albert Kinoli of 6+, both counterparts discussed the excellent relations Rome and official Pristina have built between them, while urging support of the Italian Senate and state in the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo citizens.
Prior to this tour in Italy, Wessel and his team from party deputies, days before the EC recommended lifting visas, had stayed in France and the Netherlands to lobby for visas.
Wessel in Rome has said that Kosovo institutions have met all the criteria they have been set in this process, while meeting all criteria has been assessed days ago by the European Commission, which recommended abolishing visas for Kosovo citizens.
The president of Italy's Senate, Maria Elizabeth Alberti Caselati, stressed that her state will continue to support Kosovo both on the direct level of interstate relations and under the European Union, especially in current processes involving visa liberalisation and other integration processes.
We're on your side in Italy. We rejoice that there have been positive steps in this regard. We will try to positively influence European Union countries for visa liberalisation. We assess reforms in the justice system that have been made so far. I am glad that the opposition speaks in the same language as the position for such enormous interest as visa liberalisation”, Casey has said.
