This diplomatic warehouse has written about the diplomatic messages of President Thaci given at the Dutch Institute for International Relations “Clingael”.
“Peace and justice are two fundamental issues for each society, especially those in transition”, Thaci was quoted as saying, writes “Diplomat”.
The first Dutch diplomatic magazine has written that dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia has produced a historic agreement in Brussels, exactly five years ago.
We are proud of our struggle for freedom and have nothing to hide or fear the truth. No one ever tried to escape or hide from justice, compared to other states in the region”, Thaci was quoted as saying. Speaking of statehood in Kosovo, President Thaci has stressed that only ten years ago Kosovo declared the newest Republic in Europe and we can now look proudly at achievements over the past decade.
Kosovo is a success story, but we still have numerous challenges, as do all other Western Balkan states”, he has said.
According to the Dutch magazine “Diplomat”, the Kosovo president during his stay in the Netherlands has counted the three most important challenges, one of which is the conclusion of dialogue with Serbia.
“Both Kosovo and Serbia want to be part of the European Union, and the two states know we have to get to know each other. The EU will not accept us with problems. We need a legally binding agreement. I know it will be extremely difficult for both sides and above all for Kosovo. But I am convinced that dialogue and agreement are the only way ahead of”, Thaci said, writes “Diplomat”.
This magazine writes that the next challenge for Kosovo is economic.
Kosovo is continuing to mark economic growth, but needs to create more jobs. We need to focus on the new economy and new opportunities. It is not easy, and we still have to make more structural reforms”, Thaci was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the third challenge, President Thaci has said it concerns Kosovo's integration into NATO and the EU, where, according to him, Kosovo is working on meeting democratic criteria in politics, economy and legislation.
The oldest diplomatic magazine in the Netherlands has also written for Hashim Thaci's biobook “State, Modern Stateman”, promoted to many representatives of the Dutch state, diplomats, ambassadors, journalists and civil society representatives at the Dutch Institute for International Relations “Clingeel”.
