“Adem Demachi, a long-standing former political prisoner because of his resistance to Serbian rule known to ethnic Albanians as the “Mendela of Kosovo”, died Thursday at the age of 82. Demach spent 28 years in Serbian prisons during the Yugoslav era and was seen as a symbol for most ethnic Kosovo Albanians in their fight with communist Yugoslavia and later with Serbia for greater rights and independence for the autonomous province as it was then Kosovo”, are some of the lines that this news agency has written for Demacci.
