For clinic doctors, but there are also challenges for patients in providing and receiving appropriate treatment for patients who suffer in areas covered by psychiatrists and psychologists.
Shaban Mecina, director of the QKUK Psychiatric Clinic, has shown that this centre consists of 20 psychiatrists, 5 clinical psychologists, two professors, 45 nurses and technical staff.
This clinic is divided into four departments, which has also functional the part in which drug and alcohol addiction is treated.
For Kallox.com also spoke to A.V. from the Squitheright Community who is a drug addict now. He has gone to the Psychiatry Clinic of the University Clinical Centre for Week Control.
The patient said that he has begun treatment at this clinic for 5-6 years.
I'm a drug user for a long time, but 5-6 years I've been receiving therapy here at QKUK. I've been lying here in the hospital for about 10 days, but I haven't had an effect. Without more than that, he said.
The patient says that he is 45 years old, unmarried, and his family is made up of three brothers because his parents no longer live him. “My family knows my situation and my back is”, he says.
He said there are regular checks at the Psychiatric Clinic every week. I have here, the Prustina should come twice a week, but I need it with the road and they only beat me once to come”, says A.V. The patient added that at the moment it is using only one drug, which costs 35 euros. “These are quickly spent, plus I need them to pay the way to Pristina”, he says.
On the other hand, the director of the clinic explained the specific services this clinic offers.
“psychotic, acute and chronic disorders that are in the form of schizophrenia are treated in Department A. Department B offers treatment for depression disorders, polar disorders, personality disorders, and others. It is also the ward of addiction, offers treatment for addiction, alcohol, and various drugs. And we have an intensive psychiatric care unit where patients are treated that are aggressive, who usually come into police escorts, which need physical isolation for a few days and to receive therapy necessarily”, says Meciny.
