Work on Pristina-Podujevo road is causing nervousness in citizens

This is irritating the citizens of Podujevo, who pass the route daily, creating columns of miles as a consequence of slow operations.

Citizens express disappointment at the pace of their work, saying that it is meaningless that this expanding segment is taking so long.

Besides the citizens who drive through the already broken roads, problems and damage, the delay in ending this road is also causing businesses that are on the way.

Hajriz Shala citizen from the Podujevo municipality complains that the extension of construction works for the Pristina-Podujevo road is becoming excessive, as it is causing problems for passing vehicles that wait in columns for hours.

I often get to cross this street, but especially recently, from the morning to the early morning hours until late hours every time you pass here you have to wait in the column. Today, as you can see, there is a slowdown, but it's still working, sometimes, it's being stopped. These jobs are damaging this part because it's delayed, there are days when workers come late, a small number of workers work, the rest don't know where they are. Only two miles [3 km] of road can't be maintained that one year and that's for me, it's pointless”, Shala said.

According to Shala, there are many factors for this delay in the work, but what suffers most are citizens and business that are due along the way.

Even Ilmi Sekiraqa expresses indignation at the delays under way. He says that citizens who cross this road daily wait hours to cross the road building.

It's a disaster, man. It's just... it's not a quiet one. It's a very simple comparison sometimes with an hour and more people wait here, that's just in us. Since we don't get into it often, as opposed to”, he said.

Xhafer Krasniqi, says the lack of work to accomplish this part of the road is causing problems in circulation, as in addition to waiting on columns, cars are being damaged, problems with other dust.

It's getting in the way. It's gonna have to work faster and faster. They're being prevented from”, Krasniqi stressed.

Even at the Ministry of Infrastructure, they acknowledge that there are concerns about slowing down the works, but are convinced that in the deadline the work will be finished.

Minister Lekaj's political adviser, Fatos Mani, has said of KosovoPress, that they have been informed of the concerns of citizens who pass through that part, but businesses as well, and that the minister himself has gone out on the field.

We have, in fact, visited the road twice, along with the project manager who is from the ministry. We also have a commission that is on the side and regularly paid visits to the field to see both the dynamic plan and the quality of the works, and we've taken care of both the cabinet and the citizens' demands, but other concerned parties that we stay very close to the operators so that the works are based on planning and quality as they are with specific parameters”, Man said.

Manny adds there are two companies doing the work on this road. Until, in the part where you're doing AlTrade, there's property problems.

There are actually two loto works going on, or at least two loto tears are unfinished, technically unaccepted.
