His complete scripture:
The European Commission's recommendation for visa liberalisation for Kosovo is positive.
These are the following steps:
European Parliament is mandated by competent Parliamentary Commission ( LIBE ) The Commission for Civil Rights, Justice and Internal Affairs to proceed with the case in question.
Later, the Council approves the negotiating position that paves the way for the trialog between the Commission, the Council and Parliament, agreeing to the content of the text, which is then put to the polls at the plenary session in Parliament, where the qualified majority is needed.
At the same time, the Council must vote on the proposal, with qualified majority (55% of EU countries representing 65% of the population). This whole procedure could take up to nine months.
However, if the country's institutions show quick and successful in lobby, liberalisation could happen even this year, but only if Kosovo and visa liberalisation return to the agenda immediately. The initial discussion of visa liberalisation for Kosovo was removed from the agenda on July 10th, because the Commission had not yet released the report with conclusions on meeting the criteria.
Now, the ball is in the EU. Corruption, however, has to be fought harder, indeed.
