Democratic League of Kosovo MP Vjosa Osmani has spoken of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia that is being held in Brussels today.
She has said the LDK will not accept Hashim Thaci as chief negotiator, and it has no legitimacy to lead this dialogue.
This delegation has no legitimacy to represent Kosovo, as it has no mandate. Without the Parliament's mandate, no one can represent Kosovo in dialogue. In a way, there is a uniform process. The institution representing legitimacy in Kosovo is being ignored. Legitimacy is granted by 2/3 of the vote by deputies”, Osmani has said.
Osmani said no one can represent Kosovo without having a mandate from the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, and that the LDK considers that only new national elections can produce legitimate institutions to advance all important processes for the state.
By contrast, Osmani has also spoken of the recommendation for visa liberalisation by the EU.
Osmani said Kosovo has support from the European Parliament, but the biggest burden remains on the Council of Ministers of Europe to give the latest word for visa liberalisation to Kosovo.
She said it is hard enough to talk about an exact date when it can be moved freely without visas.
“I hope the recommendation says the criteria have been met”, LDK deputy Vjosa Osmani said.
