Enrico De Mattia had participated in the <x0... Safe Streets” operation on Saturday, before he committed suicide. The motives of this serious event remain unknown.
Suicide was confirmed by the Italian Army. Gianluca Rizzo, from Movement 5 Stars, wrote on Facebook that soldiers face “psychologicalqok” more than any other group, due to the specifics of this work.
De Mattia is the third soldier to commit suicide in six months. All suicide soldiers served as commander of the same brigade general, Paulo Raudino.
