Mark Zuckerberg has been criticised by Jewish groups and anti-racist organisations for thinking that Holocaust deniers should be allowed on Facebook because this could be unintentional, reports Guardian, broadcast Periscope.
In an interview Wednesday, the founder of Facebook said that for him, denying the Holocaust was “towardly offensive” but added: “I don't believe our platform has to remove that kind of content because I think there are things that different people get wrong. I don't think they deliberately get that wrong [the Holocaust evaluation]... It is hard to unlock that goal and understand. ”
Zuckerberg, himself Jewish, later withdrew this statement, saying: "I personally consider the denial of the Holocaust to be extremely offensive, and absolutely I am not intent on defending the purpose of the people who deny it. ”
But such comments came too late to be rescued by Jewish groups who crucified him with their criticism. Stephen Silverman stated to Guardian that the “Zuckerberg statements are highly irresponsible. There's no such thing as the Holocaust's kind denial. ”
