Government to compensate for damage caused by hail

Also, the decision has authorised the Ministry of Finance to launch procedures to create a special fund for compensation of eventual damage to the agriculture sector during 2019. Under preparations for establishing this fund, the Government has also decided to establish a working group for establishing the agricultural product insurance system.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, except that he has said farmers will be compensated, has asked the Ministry of Agriculture not to stop subsidies for these farmers. As for the budget for compensation of these farmers, Finance Minister Bedri Hamza has said the means will be found and the damages will be compensated, but he said that with the level they have as real opportunities as a state. Meanwhile, in terms of the establishment of a special fund for 2019, Hamza was the one proposing that as a longer-term solution a task force be established for establishing the agricultural insurance system. While Deputy Agriculture Minister Mevludin Krasniqi submitted the only four municipalities' demand for compensation, amounting to 6.7m euros. Krasniqi: Drenas, Rahoveci, Ferizaj and Lipjan, their demands are 6.7m euros.
The Kosovo government at this meeting has made a decision to establish a commission that will deal with preparing the proposal for the selection of fire status in Kosovo. The commission will be guided by a representative of the Prime Minister's Office and in composition with representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Management of Local Power, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the European Integrity, the Ministry of Public Administration, the Emergency Management Agency, Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Commission Association. Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said this establishment of this commission is important as it will define the status of firefighters in Kosovo the Kosovo government has also approved the six-month budget report for 2018, which will be sent to the Kosovo Assembly.

The signed agreement provides the Republic of Kosovo a loan in the amount of 80m euros, which will be used to implement the Pristina-Peje highway Project, the Kijevo-Zhaq segment, Kosova Prees reports.
