NATO Deputy General Secretary Rose Gottmeler has said the process of forming the Kosovo Armed Forces should be in line with the Kosovo Constitution.
It is also very important that Kosovo continue with its important reform processes, including the fully professional Security Force. NATO has always had the stance, that in the case of the Kosovo Armed Forces, this process should be carried out constitutionally, according to constitutional procedures. We will continue to work with officials in Kosovo on the issue.
From the summit you will see documents coming out in the coming days to continue supporting KFOR operations in Kosovo. We think they are very important for continuing to strengthen security in the region, but also to help build professionalism within the framework of the Kosovo Security Forces”, Gottemieder told Tanjug, before the start of the NATO summit in Brussels.
