In EU countries, about 195 thousand people die due to the wrong taking of drugs, mainly by overdoses. While all over the planet, 30-50 % of the drugs are not taken in the right way as the doctor recommends.
These are the latest statistics from the World Health Organization, which suggests that among the main problems posed in taking medication from patients are the abuse, the ban on treatment, the confusion, the higher or lower dose of medical prescriptions.
The problem is largely noted in chronically ill people who are conditioned to take medication every day, properly ignoring times and doses. Experts say this is a high number of deaths stemming from errors in medicine and, in addition, have costs that account for up to 125 billion euros annually.
Experts say more information is needed for patients to avoid worsening their situation, mainly from teams in health facilities, where family doctor plays a role.
