And the path towards membership in this United Nations organisation is estimated to be difficult for Kosovo, as in addition to meeting technical criteria, such a decision depends on the will of 164 WTO members, KTV reports.
For this, the Ministry of Commerce says it is being co-ordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister.
“The Ministry of Trade and Industry is in finalisation of the request, which will be submitted to the WTO and after consulting with the prime minister's office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and strategic political partners, MTI Minister Bajram Hasani, will submit the application application request to the WTO, in the quality of the observer member”, says in the MTI response, not showing the date when it will become such a thing.
The way up to obtaining the status observer in this organisation includes several phases. This process begins with handing over formal application for membership from the Government of Kosovo, which then forms a team of membership workers. From Kosovo must also surrender, the Memorandum on the Foreign Trade regime, which precedes negotiations on membership conditions.
