American Oda seeks to postpone automotive Law change

American Economic Oda in Kosovo through a media communique expresses concern over changing Law No. 05L-123 on Automs, respectively, changing the provisions under which importation of vehicles older than ten years, despite calls from the American Economic Oda and other business associations against this initiative. [...]
The American “Oda believes the law is contrary to efforts promoted to protect the environment and health of citizens, undertaken within the European Union for reducing emissions released from light and heavy vehicles”, the communiques say.
The American Oda believes that initiatives and changes in these sizes that have broad implications in the environment, safety in traffic and health, should be discussed more broadly, while members of the Assembly should consider the importance of a more comprehensive decision-making approach.
The U.S. “Oda recommends postponing the amendment of the law to publishing the findings of the country's pollution causers, the process already initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning with Japanese experts”.
The American Economic Oda once again repeats its appeal to policymakers to reflect and understand the importance of continued dialogue with the private sector and civil society as the only way to ensure that laws and other legal acts are in service of economic growth and the welfare of citizens.
