Although the number of foreign tourists visiting the country during the month of June increased by 58 thousand more visitors, a dramatic decline in data coming from several European countries was noted.

England, Poland, Germany, and Switzerland registered a smaller number than the performance until then. What do these countries have in common? They were qualified to the World Championship, which started on June 14th, and large fan groups travelled to Russia to support the national team.

Compared to the January-May period, reports SCANThe annual entry performance from England dropped by 15.3 percentage points for Germany dropped by 22.8 percentage points, followed by Poland with a decline of 17.5% and Switzerland by 3.4%.

The decline of individuals who booked holidays during June was also observed by tour operators of these countries, particularly Great Britain, where England's arrival to the semifinals of the competition further postponed vacations. While in Germany's case, which was eliminated in the group phase, postponing the reservations lasted only two weeks, however gave a negative effect on reducing about 15% of bookings for various tourist destinations.

Immediately after the end of the World Cup, our operators recorded a booking boom of over 250% growth compared to previous days, which means that fans will still not give up the coast.

Influenced by the World Cup may also be fans of Sweden and Denmark, where our country is a popular destination in recent years.

In Albania's case, this means that about 5 thousand tourists missing in the championship's development date can visit our country at the end of July or during August. / SCAN
