AAKAKA MP says Thaci must lead dialogue, with the reconciliation of political parties

In KTV's interactive, he has said that a team of all parties should be built, but also experts on the dialogue issue and that ultimately the Assembly will decide on any agreement that can be reached.

The clashes over Thaci's name do not seem appropriate. It would be better to discuss the platform and issues that can be discussed as well as to establish red lines, rather than whether Thaci would have to lead the talks. That's why the Parliament has to decide, but I think Thaci is elected president, even with LDK votes, and has Serbia's president. Not necessarily should Thaci, but he should be with the House. It is good for parties to engage for common consensus and decide what the team or platform will be. The debate should take place in Parliament on who leads the delegation. It would be good for MPs of all parties to reach consensus on dialogue”, he has said, adding that “s) understands why the LDK is making a noise against Thaci, even though it itself chose president”.

According to Selmanaj, the government led by Ramush Haradinaj is seeking debate on the common platform, and any results resulting from the dialogue will be discussed in parliament. He has said that “even if Thaci wants to reach harmful agreements, such a thing allows the negotiating team and ultimately Parliament does not allow harmful agreements for Kosovo”.

I'm going to be part of the dialogue of all parties and good knowledge of circumstances because it's about an agreement to close the conflict and end with mutual recognition. No results and legitimacy without opposition. It is not good to see the daily political party effects, but to sit together to build a common platform to reach the final agreement with Serbia. We don't mind who's running the negotiations. It's important the platform and not reach harmful deals. I'm honest, Thaci had to lead the negotiations because he has Serbia's president in front. Top Thaci, it's okay, understood with the team agreeing with all parties. Thaci legality and anyone else can only get it from the Parliament. The red lines should be discussed in Parliament, but the red line is that it is not discussed with Kosovo's independence and its sovereignty. It's good to debate and have a platform for what you can and what you can't discuss”, he added further.

Selmanaj has also commented on Thursday's debate in the Kosovo Assembly for the 53m extra paid to Bechtel & Enkas for the “Arba Xhaferi” highway. According to him, the former government is guilty and that “rescue”, which is being paid so much money and no more, is the Haradinaj government.

The truth is that the former government has been stuck in payments. And there's been a setback in the contract because it's pre-emptive to be completed in January 2015. We were either in a situation to stop the project and go to Arbitraz to pay greater damage, or decisions like the one that has now been made”, Selmanaj said. The current “government has been in a situation before two decisions, the decision that has been made, which is good and the money is painful, or to go to Arbitraz. We can send it, but who takes responsibility if they miss the case. I'm very pessimistic that we can win the international Arbitragi. Bechtel & Enkas' request and complaint is clear. It's considered to be damaged, and it was only two choices. To comply with their request or to go to Arbitrazh, where I am convinced that we would be lost. I'm convinced we're losing 53 million on the blame of this government, but with neglect to pay the last government”.

Selmanaj has expressed optimism that visa liberalisation will take place this year. He said it belongs to everyone because the process started earlier. As for the possibility of overthrowing the Haradinaj government, Selmanaj has said that the opposition knows that he has numbers, but only speaks electorally.
