Macedonia's Parliament Speaker Xhaferi says that by Friday the agreement on the name issue must be ratified on the part of the Parliament, and the State Court is sent. During today, Xhaferi has had meetings with the co-ordinators of the parliamentary group of the Parliament, including the opposition, sends out Telegram Macedonia.
Tomorrow, it is expected that the Parliament will vote on the proposed ratification of the name issue settlement agreement, where then the European Affairs Commission will have two days, according to the regulation, to review the agreement. The ratification bill for parliament will then be submitted to the parliamentary session.
To adopt the draft law requires a simple majority. The government of the Republic of Macedonia at the 74th session revised and approved the Proposal for ratification of the agreement.
After the deal, it must be sent to Chairman Ivanov, who has the 7-day deadline to sign. If Ivanov uses his right to veto, the agreement will be sent back to parliamentary procedure, but then will have to be voted in a simple majority, or 61 MPs. The agreement in this case is sent to the mayor, who under the Constitution is obliged to sign it.
