A Mexican politician, active in the fight for the disappearance of organised crime, was shot dead while he's making a living with some supporters.
Fernando Purón, former mayor of Piedras Negras, had participated in a debate in Congress on Friday, when he was shot.
The shocking murder of Purón, who was filmed by nearby cameras, shows a man with a beard and hat walking behind 43-year-olds and shooting him in the back of his head.
Purón passed away on his way to the hospital.
He was known primarily for his work, to fight the Los Zetas cartel.
Cartel Zeta has lost some “power” since the arrest of leader Miguel Treviño Morales, known as Z-40.
Purón's death makes him the politician of 112 killed in Mexico since September last year.
More than 1,000 candidates have abandoned the July 1st local elections, due to fears they will be killed by gangs.
During the campaign, nearly 10 per cent of the country, or 222 municipalities, have had candidates or current leaders killed, attacked or threatened.
Purón, part of the ruling Revolutionary Institution Party, was threatened several times during the post as mayor.
In 2016 a warning was posted to a cemetery, where it wrote: “Purón, in two years we will cut off your head”.
