The United Education, Science and Culture Union of Kosovo (SBASHK) through a media statement has reacted to the Ministry of Finance's statements, Bedri Hamza, who spoke against the benefits of education workers in the 1990s, arguing that he is in charge of the budget.
This union claims they knew Hamza would go against the Albanian education workers' status law for the 1990s, but according to them, not for the reasons she is now saying.
“The SBASK has known that Minister Hamza will go against the Law on the status of Albanian Education Workers of the Republic of Kosovo for the 90th years, not for what he is saying now wherever the opportunity is being given, but more because the SBASK rejected his request to interrupt the March 12th day strike and other union actions”, says the report follows KosovoPress.
SBASK expresses surprise at the appearance of two union leaders,
“Blerim Syla on behalf of the union health Federation and Ndue Kalaj on behalf of the public administration union have gone even further against this bill and sent letters to the Government and MPs, with the threat that they would file charges against them in the courts, but this bill for the torches of knowledge was made. The SBASK is sure that members of these two federations don't think like the Charlie Syla because they highly appreciate the contribution of Albanian teachers in the 1990s when faced with storm and the violence of the invaders did not stop learning for even one day and that even when they were violently expelled from school objects they turned their homes into schools and worked and issued documentations with the stamp and appointment of the Republic of Kosovo. Those who experienced that time of heavy commitment know who and how engaged and whose fact and history itself talk about education, who not only told Serbia but also continued with devotion and work keeping the spark of knowledge alive and the dream of Kosovo's citizenship. This resistance of educational workers has remained alive in the people's memory, and therefore individuals cannot deny the basic sacrifice of educational workers in those years. Colleagues Syla and Kala remind her that virtue unions have solidarity and rejoice in the achievements she wants union”, said in part of the communiqué.
According to SBASK, Kalaj's Syla to gain the sympathy of Minister Hamza has become part of his information office and has joined his objections without even an argument against the 90th Bill.
