PDK expects LDK support for Hashim Thaci's name as chief negotiator

Hashim Thaci's name as the leader of the final phase of talks between Kosovo and Serbia has sparked numerous reactions on the political scene in the country. One of the parties, which along with the PDK, Fatmir Limaj's Social Democrat Initiative has openly voiced opposition, while LDK's deployment to the issue will only be known tomorrow [...]
In this regard, Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy leader Rexhep Hoti, in a proposal for Periscope, has said there should be a full unification of political parties representing citizens in the Assembly, but also civil society and even the religious community.
“We are in a very sensitive policy issue in general, when it should be unified more than ever, and should have a single stance on Serbia and dialogue. The conclusion of talks with Serbia, in a formal sense, actually gives the president competence, to carry out the mandate for which even part of the opposition voted. With Serbia not only the parties that are within parliament should take a stand, but I think parties that are not represented in parliament should have the same attitude, civil society, and also the religious community. A normalisation with Serbia should have the final word of the people of Kosovo in general. And this is a very important issue”, Hoti said about Periscope.
According to him, however, the final word will be spoken tomorrow in the Assembly.
The “on the other hand is the other aspect of the political schematic changes that they seek and impose another role on who it will be and what it will be like. But for the second half I'm talking about, this issue will be known after a vote in parliament, and there with automatism it determines who this institution is and the representative of that relevant institution, whether it is legitimate or not, he has said.
Hoti says it must be learned to trust someone, and in the talks, dozens of people should not go.
I wish that we as political class and others, the ones in general, find a common language. Finally we have to learn to trust someone, and don't send dozens of people there, but we can trust someone, and he's got to create a controlling mechanism for what he's doing and what he's signed up for, and what Hot for Periscope.
Asked by Periscope, if you expect the LDK to give Thaci confidence tomorrow in the Assembly to lead the final phase of dialogue with Serbia, Hoti has said the LDK has always been a constructive party to vital issues for the country, and tomorrow he doesn't expect to be shown otherwise.
I believe the LDK will take its constructive stance. The Democratic League of Kosovo has historically had constructive attitudes in the country's capital processes, and I do not expect it to have any change. I expect the LDK to support the unifying word of the Kosovo Assembly and the people of Kosovo”, the Hoti for Periscope has concluded.
Tomorrow, it is expected that the Kosovo Assembly will discuss the platform of dialogue with Serbia, which the government has prosecuted in the legislature. According to this platform, the chairman of the final phase of the talks will be President Thaci. “The Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo confirms that the president of the Republic of Kosovo and the Kosovo Delegation, which will be established in co-ordination with the entire political spectrum, in full respect of political unity in the country, are authorised to hold talks on reaching the internationally binding legal agreement”, said on the platform to be discussed tomorrow in the Parliament./Periscopi/
