Democratic League of Kosovo MP Vjosa Osmani has issued controversial European Union statements on the issue of the Serb majority municipality Association.
She has said she was the EU's own top representative, Federica Moghrini, who in the Kosovo Assembly had demanded that the Association be established in line with the Constitutional Court's decision. Yesterday, he demanded that this be done on the basis of the 2013 and 2015 agreement.
On May 6th 2016, High Representative Federica Moghrini had declared before the deputies of the Kosovo Parliament that the association would be in line with the Constitutional Court's decision. Yesterday, on June 26, 2018, the Council of the EU, in its conclusions for Kosovo states that the association should be in line with the August 2015 agreement and the v.2013x1> MP Osmani wrote on Facebook.
It has asked the European Union to clarify this return to this process.
Could someone from the EU explain why this going back? So now it's required that the ruling be ignored. The Constitutional, which had found that the Association Status cannot be drafted under the August 25th agreement since it conflicted with a set of constitutional provisions”, has demanded clarification.
Osmani has said that this EU requirement could also be interpreted as a requirement for changing the Kosovo Constitution.
Therefore, yesterday's requirement for this statute to be made under the August 2015 agreement could be interpreted as a requirement to change Kosovo Constitution”, the Osmany MP has concluded.
