Murder in Tirana, MP: The State Failed to Protect a Young Girl

Democratic Party MP Albana Vokshi reacted to this morning's double murder in Tirana, where 31-year-old Dzaq Mata killed 19-year-old Juliet Qun.

According to Vokshi, the murder in Tirana occurred due to the neglect of institutions.

Vokshi writes on a Facebook note that state police are “in opposition leader Mr. Basha, in the persecution of x witnesses or brave journalists, not of our children”!

Today, the State has failed to protect another young woman!!

Another double murder occurred in Tirana for neglect of institutions.

A 19-year-old girl took away her life just because she refused... 19 years of sacrifice to raise and educate her parents... and somebody else thinks she has a right to take...!

Where were state institutions? Why didn't they stop it? Where's the Reference Mechanism? Why doesn't it work?

The media report that the college student who was killed today sometimes sought police help because she was persecuted by the author.

But her calls to live were not heard, and authorities responsible for fighting violence and crimes in family relations failed to prevent double murder.

There is no mention in the police community of the event, that the 19-year-old had asked for help and they did not protect her.

State police, instead of protecting citizens, have come to the defense of ministers or former interior ministers... in the protection of gangs and “large”.

State police are in pursuit of opposition leader Mr. Basha, in the persecution of x witnesses, or brave journalists, not of our children!

I call for deepening investigation of the event and full responsibility for every state official, every institution's link to the Reference Mechanism, which neglected calls for assistance from the 19-year-old girl, who was brutally murdered in the “Don Boskos” area.
