Minister Hoxha: We are awaiting positive visa recommendation

European Integration Minister Gift Hoxha has told the newspaper “The new era” that Kosovo has met all conditions required for visa liberalisation.

Kosovo has had a visa liberalisation guide since 2012, and we have had 95 criteria, more than all countries in the region. Our institutions have shown commitment and I consider that with the ratification of demarcation we have met the conditions provided. We also have progress in fighting organised crime and corruption, which will continue even after visa liberalisation”, Hoxha has said, adding that Kosovo deserves a positive recommendation from the European Commission.

“After the positive recommendation, approval should be made in the EP and I am working intensively to get the support of all states. It was also my visit to Brussels, where I met the Secretary of State for Migration and several Eurodeputs. Kosovo citizens deserve free movement and must have it. We politicians are in the service of the citizens and I believe that with the work and joint commitment we will achieve progress on the path to integration”, Minister Hoxha has indicated.
