Chief speaker Kadri Veselini along with a delegation is expected to stay today and tomorrow in Vienna, Austria, to lobby for the removal of visas for Kosovo citizens. In this, Wessel does not support the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
Thus has the head of the Parliamentary Group of this party, Avdullah Hoti, who has said they do not join Veselin's lobby tour because they consider visa liberalisation not secured through such actions.
“To contribute to meeting the criteria for visa liberalisation, the Speaker of the Assembly must ensure the management of the Kosovo Assembly's affairs to approve laws that are related to the SAA and specifically to the European Reforms Agency. As leader of the party in the coalition, the Speaker of the Parliament should see to it that the Government fulfils its obligations towards the agenda for Kosovo's European integration”, Hoti wrote.
Hoti has also added that they have rejected no official letter from the Speaker of the Assembly concerning the purposes of this trip, agendas of meetings and other important details to plan this official visit properly.
Among other things, he has estimated that such trips are unnecessary spending public money and sending unclear messages to EU states.
