This decision has been taken due to the financial crises this public enterprise has had, especially in recent years.
The chairman of the Communication Regulatory Authority Board, Kreshnik Gashi, has said that given the situation they have offered Telekom an additional deadline.
Gashi has indicated that if by October 31st the implementation of the telephone code does not begin, Telekom will be fined on the basis of laws in force.
Critically extending the state code deadline has had the Vetevendosje Movement.
Telecommunications expert Ismet Hamiti has said that the situation is bad even because of the sabotage of this code.
VV leader Albin Kurti has said the telecom can only be saved if the State Prosecutor investigates contracts carried out with private businesses.
At Vetevendosje's request, Kosovo's Assembly will hold interference Monday for the state of Telekom.
Kosovo's telecom currently has 56 per cent of the mobile phone market.
