Kosovars have entered the loan during 2017. This year the value of loans increased by 11.5 percent compared to the previous year.
“Under banking sector assets, the value of total loans issued by commercial banks marked an annual increase of 11.5 per cent, reaching 2.49 billion euros”, the CEC report said.
Deposit, the amount of money Kosovars keep in banks, has increased at a lower pace. But deposits continue to remain higher than credit.
“in the same period, the value of total deposits in Kosovo's banking sector reached 3.09 billion euros, amounting to an annual increase of 6.8 per cent”, the CEC's annual report said.
In 2017 the financial system was marked by increased activity in all sectors.
“Vlera of the total assets of Kosovo's financial system reached 5.91 billion euros in 2017, which coincided with an annual increase of 9.7 per cent. During 2017, banking sector assets marked annual growth of 6.4 per cent, reaching 3.87 billion euros”, said further in the BQC report.
