On 19 August 1982, at a special session on the Palestinian issue, the UN General Assembly, shaken by the large number of innocent Palestinian and Lebanese children who fell victim to Israel's air strikes in Beirut during the Lebanon War, has decided to announce June 4th International Children's Day of Aggression Victims. At that time 60 children have lost their lives.
On September 1, 2004, the whole world was shocked by the news of the occupation of the school building in Beslan, Northern Ossetia. At least 330 people, including 172 children, died there.
