Lagarde commented on the annual review of the American economy by the IMF, which estimated that if US economic growth is large over the short term, financial recovery measures and trade restrictions pose risks to the world economy, the ATSH writes.
“In the event of a trade struggle, prompted by the mutual increase of customs tariffs for imports, there are no winners, as we usually see losers on both sides”, Lagarde stated during a press conference in Washington.
For its part, the US reacted immediately, expressing its opposing views of the IMF for the medium-term prospects of the first world economy.
