Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has welcomed the agreement for Macedonia's new name. Through his Facebook account, Haradinaj says such events surround the entire region with Euro-Atlantic structures and values. On the other hand, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has described this agreement as historic and, according to him, will pave the way for NATO and EU membership for the entire Western Balkans.

He has also congratulated the citizens of these two states on this agreement.

I enjoy the long-awaited news of reaching the historic agreement on the name issue between Macedonia and Greece. The leadership of the two countries proved determined and visionary to contribute to the closure of an open issue of the Western Balkans.

Any good news from our region provides us with all the Euro-Atlantic structures and values that we jointly target.

I hope that in this constructive spirit all other historical topics that remain open from the past to the Balkans.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, through his profile in Titter, has congratulated Greece's prime minister, Alexis Tsipras and Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev for reaching the name agreement.

I congratulate our neighbours in Athens and Skopje on reaching the historic agreement on the Republic's new name. Tsipras, Zaev and their citizens must be commended. This new opportunity for membership in NATO and the EU helps Kosovo and the entire WB6.
