The best gymnast for two years plans to abandon sport because of Federation refusal

Zeqir Reka, the father and coach of the best gymnast for two years in Kosovo Leonisa Reka, has expressed surprise and disappointment because his daughter has not been invited to participate in the international competition in Italy.

Reka has shown the desperate words of his daughter, who has sought to discontinue her career as a gymnast because of <x0-mediction” that was done by the Kosovo Gymnastic Federation. He says he does not know why her daughter is not invited to this race.

My daughter has been declared the best gymnast in the last two years in Kosovo and has been unfairly overlooked for interests where I know what they were and sent a group of four other girls, while the first country has bypassed”, Reka has told Insyder.

Leonise's father and coach said the girl asked him to leave her gymnastics sport because of her refusal to compete.

In two consecutive years in 2016, and in 2017, Kosovo's best gymnast was declared. I really don't have any information about why my daughter is skipped and isn't selected to participate in this tournament. When there's four gymnasts, if it's not my daughter there, that's the problem, because the federation has a finger here I'm pretty sure it's”

I wish those girls a lot of success, but I'm feeling a lot like my daughter who just didn't cry and told me she'd quit all this gymnastics because she told me I've done it so far and I'm being rejected”, Reka confessed.

The father and coach of the gymnast is confident that the Kosovo Gymnastics Federation was involved in all of this.

If the Gymnastics Club élita has individually arrived to infiltrate the country I congratulate and wish them many successes, but if the federation decided to send them and bypass its champion I really don't know what to say” Reka said.

Federation shows why Kosovo's best gymnast was left out

The head of the Kosovo Federation of Gymnastics, Besim Halilaj, has given two reasons why Leonidas has been left out of the race. He has told Inseyder that the first reason is because the “Elita” club was the one who received the invitation from the Federation of Italy to participate in the race.

He has said that in co-operation with the “Elita”, the Gjimnastic Federation has decided that the four gymnasts will represent Kosovo, and not only the “Elita” club. As he has said, the gymnasts of this club are the best gymnasts in Kosovo.

Halilaj admits that Leonidas has been the best gymnast in Kosovo in the past two years, but he says the situation in our country has now changed. However, he says Leonidas will represent Kosovo in Macedonia in a race aimed at becoming similar to the Balkan League.
