A woman in Australia has lost her life after receiving hepatitis A from a frozen pomegranate.
The 64-year-old has died in a rare and tragic “case, has been assessed by state authorities. A warning was issued to the product in April, so far allegedly causing 24 cases of hepatitis throughout the country.
The Australians have been advised to check frozen tree products.
The woman's death so far is the only tragic case, most of the other cases have managed to heal fully and new cases are not expected, reports the BBC, Kosovo Press.
Hepatitis A attacks the liver, is transmitted through sex or by touching contaminated products or objects. /
