EULEX to work on behalf of specials

On Friday, the European Council has decided on the new EULEX mandate, which will be in force two years in a row. The mission won't be fully packed. It will continue to support relevant institutions of rule of law in Kosovo. But there will be areas where the voice will be heard EULEX will be crucial.
“Mission will bear some limited executive responsibility in the field of witness protection and in support of Specialised Chambers and Specialised Prosecutorship, and will keep its role as second responder in the security field”, said a Council press release. Kosovo will assume responsibility for all investigations, prosecutions and transferred judgments”.
