Kosovo's Economic Oda has reacted after the sentence the Kosovo Privatisation Agency has dealt with the company “Elkos”, worth about 1 million and 3 thousand euros, saying it is a blow done to a local business.

The chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics, Safet Gerjaliu, has said that “Elkos” is an inside that makes Kosovo's entrepreneurship proud and the crackdown on this political revans company is disturbing.

In its reasoning, the AKP has said that “Elkos” has failed to meet contractual obligations to the company “Family” from Prizren, which is led by LDK deputy Ramiz Kelmendi.

The “is an extreme politicisation of the approach of several institutions and agendas in front of businesses, in this direction it does not do Kosovo honor and honour Kosovo's future if it continues with this penalisation of political opponents. It was very difficult for me to go to the media conference because I sought the decision of the Kosovo Privatisation Agency on the basis of what Elkos Group has been convicted. Think of it except that they've shared a tip in the media, even those who seem to be fined have no decision. Most of what has happened is paradoxical”, he said.

The head of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics said the fine of “Elkos” damages it in Kosovo's image, where he said who will come to invest in Kosovo if the country deals in this way with local companies.

He also said that this case should be the last to be damaged in this way by the private sector.

We will be with Elkos company on every road with the sole purpose of the right to triumph and let this be the last case that this aggressively undermines the private sector, damages Kosovo entrepreneurship, and damages the image and environment of doing business in Kosovo. Policy from the economy and those who want it and invest in the future of Kosovo must be halted and realised that it is not the political agenda that guarantees economic and social stability, but it is the private sector, it is economic development, and that should be the orientation of all of us. Not always should such companies be punished and blackmailed in this form”, he said.

While Faton Islami from Elkos said their company has fulfilled all obligations that are envisioned in the contract, which was signed in 2011 and for that he said they have evidence.

Islam said there have been two contractual obligations and, according to him, both have been fulfilled, while at the same time, the plan was that they would not stop seeking justice and if necessary in international institutions.

“Two contractual obligations have been as a particular part of the contract, was the B extension, which means it has been the preservation of activity for the next three years and it has been the equipment not to be deployed. We both met them and witnessed them with bills, with workers paid, processing and maintaining activity, and not just three years we've been going on for two years after we had the debate. It's all evidence. Surely we have to complain of the sentence and I believe that if I have to go out even outside of Kosovo to demand justice, we must ask for”, he said.

The fine the AKP has given to the company “Elkos” is done under the argument that this company has failed to meet contact obligations.
