Dialogue isn't a boxing game, it's got to have Darwin-win.

Kosovo is not afraid of law and justice. U n The CK has fought a fair fight, so the Special Court gives Kosovo another opportunity to prove its responsibility as a state. So says President Hashim Thaci in the exclusive interview published today by the prestigious Austrian newspaper Die Presse. As for dialogue with Serbia, [...]
As for dialogue with Serbia, he has stressed that “dialog is not a boxing game, where one party wins, but according to him “will need to have a “win-win” on both sides, RTKlive broadcast.
- During your most recent visit to Vienna, did you meet the vice-cancellar, or a politician from FP generous?
Thaci: I had an excellent meeting with Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and was able to speak with President Alexander Van der Bellen. Earlier in Pristina, I met with Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl in Pristina. In the past three decades, Kosovo has always had the support of the Austrian political spectrum, and for that I am grateful.
- I asked the question, because it's recently from the FP recognised that signals have come about opposing Kosovo state sovereignty.
Thaci: I'm aware there's been such voices. However, the important thing is that nothing has changed in Austria's state support for Kosovo. Austria further engages in the European perspective of Balkan states and we hope that through the leadership of the European Union presidency from Austria, a greater dynamic will be established.
-Was there enough support for Kosovo's European ambitions at the recent summit in Sofia?
Thaci: It was the first summit of its kind where Kosovo was introduced as an independent and sovereign state, and this was welcomed by all. Of course, it became clear once again that Kosovo and other Balkan countries must carry out their homework and continue with reforms if they want membership in the European Union.
-But Spain and former Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy opposed Kosovo's participation and was not at the summit. Madrid does not recognise Kosovo's independence due to its personal problems with regions like Catalonia. Does that risk Kosovo's EU path?
Thaci: Spain was also represented at the summit, even at another level. The final declaration has been supported by all and respected by our participation. I understand this is a serious topic for Madrid, but any comparison between Spain and Milosevic's Serbia, as well as Catalonia and Kosovo, is wrong. I have full respect for the democratic tradition of Spain. In Kosovo there have been genocide committed by Serbia. Spain is a friend.
-Is the EU doing enough in the Balkans? There are always other players, like Russia and Turkey.
Thaci: I am very happy to be president of a country whose population is more pro-European and pro-American in the region. At the same time, it expresses regret that we are the most isolated country in Europe. For Russia it is almost impossible to play any role in Kosovo. However, we do not view Russia as an enemy. Moscow politics has more to do with solidarity for Serbia than with Kosovo's opposition. I also expect Kosovo to be recognised by Russia. With this move Russia would help Serbia break free of false myths
- What about Turkey?
Thaci: Most of the population in Kosovo is Muslim, but at the same time, they are the most pro-European people in the Balkans. Islam in Kosovo is European. Kosovo is a sovereign country that makes its own decisions on everything.
- Last few times there was some kind of resentment after authorities deported to Ankara the brain nationals considered to be Günen's followers.
Thaci: Where there was an isolated case. A misunderstanding of technical procedures has occurred in this case. But that will never happen again.
- There's a jam in dialogue with Belgrade. Serbian Office for Kosovo chief Marko Djuric in March was arrested in northern Kosovo and was later expelled.
Thaci: The Djuric case was unnecessary. It was actually a provocation of the authorities of Serbia. We were in a position when we should either react or accept the violation of our country's sovereignty. Those images have not served Kosovo, and something like that will never be repeated again. Therefore, we must start dialogue with Serbia again.
- How's it going to flow?
Thaci: At the Sofia summit, we have agreed with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, that reaching an agreement has no alternative. Dialogue is a difficult process, which will cause anxiety on all sides. But this is not a boxing game where one party wins. This will require a <x0win-win” situation on both sides. We want mutual recognition. If we don't take the chance for a solution now, they'll lose another decade then. In such a case, we will be cursed by our children. It is important for us to start the process when Austria takes over the presidency of the European Union.
- You first criticised the formation of the Special Court for War Crimes in Kosovo. What now?
Thaci: I wouldn't have said I was critical. I have led the talks with the international community on establishing the Special Court. We don't fear law and righteousness, for we have nothing to hide. The Croatian Army has fought a fair fight. I cannot say that every soldier has been an angel, but our case has been right. The Special Court gives Kosovo another opportunity to prove its responsibility as a state.
There are rumors that the list of defendants includes 20 high-ranking people. It says your name will be on this list as well?
Thaci: I have no information on this. This is a matter of justice. I don't actually want to comment on such speculation.
