Pristina Foundation Court Chairman Aferdita Bytyci has appointed the judge, Arben Hoti, as the co-ordinator of this court for cases of media and journalists.
Pristina Foundation Court Chairman Aferdita Bytyci has indicated that since today, the tribunal's deputy chairman, Arben Hoti, will be co-ordinator of journalists' cases.
“Arben Hoti. Therefore, in any case (inland) treated in Pristina's GRTH and its branches, you can contact Judge Hoti”, the head of Bytyci suggested.
The appointment of Judge Arben Hoti, as the co-ordinator for media cases and journalists, comes after a meeting held days earlier among AGK representatives, with Kosovo Judiciary Council Chief Chairman Nehat Idrizi and head of the Pristina Foundation Court, Venus Bytyci, with whom official demand for appointment of a co-ordinator at the Constitutional Court of Pristina has been submitted, thus seeing the huge burden this court has with the classes of media and journalists.
“The AGK welcomes the appointment of Hoti co-ordinator to the Constitutional Court of Pristina, because, we believe, from now on, these subjects will be treated with priority and seriousness on the part of the court, which would inevitably affect the protection of the freedoms and rights of journalists in Kosovo, as well as the increased professionalism of media”, the announcement said.
The Kosovo Journalists' Association encourages all media and journalists who are found in any judicial dispute, whether civilian or criminal, who are awaiting prosecution of cases, to contact us by sending us the number of courses, because there will be a database with cases of media and journalists, which will be handed over to the newly appointed co-ordinator so that these subjects can get an epilogue as fast as judicial.
We remember that in addition to the newly appointed co-ordinator of the Pristina Constitutional Court, even the State Prosecutor has appointed a Nacional Co-ordinator for journalists' cases, as well as in each Constitutional Prosecutor, has been appointed by a special co-ordinator who will deal exclusively with journalist subjects.
Therefore, the AGK praises the dedication of the institutions of justice and security so that journalists' cases can finally be handled with maximum priority and seriousness, thus influencing a proper and secure environment in the country's making journalism.
