The result of a terrible accident? An artistic project? A joke? Police and passers by, they remained exhausted and concerned after a burnt car was seen to rock in vertical position from a bridge in Toronto.

Shortly after the blue vehicle was spotted, during the hour of traffic rush, police, firemen, and ambulances arrived at the scene to assess the mysterious machine.

Linked to a dragline, the car hovered over a grass field and posed no danger to public safety. The police initially thought it could be a movie scene being filmed, but after having talked to city officials, this option was disfellowshipped.

No footage was authorized and police are now investigating exactly how the car was left hanging in the air. Honda Cicic looked stripped of all the identifying elements, had no license plates, some windows were missing and the bottom part was removed.

Social media was filled with speculation. An endless number of theories were poured online to explain how the car was left there, linking it to everything, from aliens to some senior class student joke. Hours after emergency teams arrived at the scene, officials managed to land it. And the police say they're still investigating.
