Kosovo's Specialised Chambers have added to the list the names of defenders, along with advocates previously accepted.
The census on these lists allows these lawyers to be elected to appear before the DHSK to represent suspects, accused, a group of victims, or any other person who has the right to legal representation on the basis of the Law for the creation of DHSK and the Protection Act.
The published lists contain the names of 87 justice field professionals from Kosovo, Serbia, and a number of other countries. Protectors can choose if they want their names mentioned on the DHSK website.
This is the second round of reports, following lists announced on March 14, 2017. Public list of defenders can be seen on the table on the DHSK website.
In this case, DHSK's head, Judge Ekaterina Trendafilova, commends all candidates and candidates, and emphasises her message that the strict criteria for accession on these lists are guarantees that defendants and victims will have the opportunity to be professionally and effectively represented before the DHSK, what will further contribute to strengthening the integrity of justice management by the Specialised Chambers.
Since November 2017, when this process began, the Office of Defence and the Office of Victims Attendance have received numerous requests for admission into the lists. Reviewing the requirements and the process of accepting the defenders continues. As a result, these list of defenders will be constantly updated and other candidates will be admitted as the process of reviewing their candidacy continues. So the process will remain open.
