The new rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Igor Soltes, speaking of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, has said that “has no easy solution because if conditions it had always been found, but it is very sensitive”. He has suggested avoiding conflicting messages in the process.
At the International Parliamentary Conference “with the idea of the European Union to peace and development”, held in Serbia's Parliament, reports Tanjugu, Soltes has said he thinks he is expecting what position Aleksandar Vuciq will have, whom Serbia's president has warned as well as the Kosovo side, regarding the Serbian Commission Association, Telegraphed.
I am sometimes more optimistic, and sometimes less, there will be movement before”, Soltes said.
He estimates that it is up to all three sides -- Belgrade, Pristina and the European Union -- if the form for resolving the problem is to be found, “but not to slow down or halt the European integration process”.
This is in the interest of all”, Soltes says, answering the question of an MP for conditioning Serbia's EU membership with chapter 35, which refers to Kosovo.
Speaking of the Brussels Agreement, he said other agreements are worth easily accepted if implementation deadlines are relatively far from the moment of reaching agreement.
But now as the deadline approaches, it is understood that the content of obligations is quite demanding”, Soltes said.
He acknowledged that his response to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue is <x0diplomatic and quite broad”, as it cannot say more than that.
Speaking of the euro integration agenda, he said that in the last period, the enlargement issue has not reached the top of the EU agenda, explaining that in this regard it came to some kind of division due to the financial crisis and migrants.
According to him, some basic values, such as understanding and solidarity, have been forgotten in the financial crisis, which were noted even in the report of the richest members to citizens of countries with a lower standard.
