All slow preparations for the Sofia Summit, held Wednesday evening and Thursday, writes Koha Ditore today.
First, there will be a meeting of 28 EU leaders dedicated to topics such as digital agendas, Iran and trade reports with the United States, and then on Thursday the special summit dedicated to the Western Balkans, the first such since the Thessaloniki Summit 15 years ago.
The EU Council has confirmed today that representatives of the 28 EU member states have agreed to the text of the joint declaration, which will be adopted at the summit for the Western Balkans and the text that “daily Koha” wrote on Monday, will not change. A senior EU official, recalling that it has been difficult to reach consensus in the EU on this text because of the 5 countries that have not recognised Kosovo, has called it a big achievement, because now at least about the text, there is reconciliation of all 28 member states leaders who have not recognised Kosovo, especially Spain, who did not want Kosovo to be part of the negotiations for joint declarations, and finally found a formula under which the leaders of the 28 member states adopt the declaration, while <x2partees from the Western Balkans agree to be with <x>
